Two and Two

A few years back we were out at Kooma for Smoochies' b-dude and while we were having delicious drinks at the bar, a very tan, leather-faced man walked by wearing a bomber jacket. We immediately identified him as Chuck Woolery. You know, the "be back in two and two" guy. We joked about it for the next few nights like it was a big deal. Because at this point, about 2 years ago, Dub-C did not have the plethora of celebrity sightings that it does today. i.e. M. Night Shyamalan, Marky Mark, Jennifer Aniston, Dr. Zibbs (That Blue Yak, Google it), Bango, Owen Wilson, Tova Borgnine, Cole Hamels, JDizzle, BAM, John Young, etc.

Anyway. I forgot about that sighting until the other day when I was reading the comments on West Chester Guerilla Drive-in and noticed that someone else has seen him too. Recently. So I did some very in-depth research (I typed "Chuck Woolery West Chester" in the Google search line). And voila!

Woolery often speaks enthusiastically about bass fishing and sells his own line of fishing products, including "MotoLure", a motorized lure that emulates a small fish. Woolery's passion for the outdoors has also enabled him to become the "official outdoor spokesman" on QVC - the television shopping network - where Woolery promotes many other signature products.
If you aren't a Dub-C resident then you should know that QVC is located here just outside of town. You can also check out the Woolery-endorsed products here.

Anyway. So that's some useless knowledge for you to chew on over the weekend. Let me know if you have your own Dub-C celebrity sighting. Oh, and one more thing, apparently Chuck is a big fan of diamonds and has a diamond encrusted bass guitar. (it's a fact, look it up) The only problem I have with this information is that it's a BASS guitar. Seriously? A bass? I mean, I have no musical talent but could probably master the bass guitar if left alone with one for 24 hours. Couldn't he at least get a diamond encrusted real guitar.

No offense bass players. Have a great weekend all.

West Chester Celebrity Sighting

Last night Beeps and I decided to head out to Iron Hill to grab some grub and a beer or two. I had been craving a heaping plate of their delicious nachos and Beeps happily obliged. We bellied up to the bar facing the door so we could oogle at all the people at the front door waiting for tables. We both ordered the Hefe Weizsen (sp?) and they were delish. When our nachos arrived I plunged right in. I was about fist deep when Beeps said

"Hey, Cole Hamels is here."
"Holy crap really?" I knew he lived in Dub-C and our friend/ Chef over at Spence has served on him several times (apparently he gets his lucky turkey sandwich before games), but this was my first time seeing him out.

The hostess greeted him at the door, but instead of whisking him away to his special "celebrity" Iron Hill table, he was put on the waiting list and handed a buzzer, just like everybody else.

"The hostess must not know who he is." I thought. Then my mind flashes back to the reoccurring column in US Weekly Stars: They're Just Like Us! Now I know it's true.

So, of course people are flocking to him like the awesome mound master that he is, furiously shaking his hand for that slaughter over the Red Sox the other night.

I was star struck! My heart said, "Go say hi you jerk. He's like 20 feet away." but my head said "You are so not the desperate groupie kind. Plus he lives here, you live here. It's no big deal."

And Beeps, who is the biggest Phillies Phan EVER (Maybe not as nuts as Turkey), sat there nibbling on nachos like he wasn't even there. But I knew he must have been dying inside!

Well, I listened to my head, but not before trying to snap a few incognito pictures from my camera phone. Of course getting the guts up to take that out was, in itself, hard enough. I mean the guy was looking right at me. That's just stalker weird. I tried anyway but before I could get off a shot, Cole's little blinking buzzer went off and he and Heidi floated to their awaiting seats.

Hopefully to order a plate full of delicious nachos.

The World's Ugliest Celebs

When I first saw this I immediately thought of Ron Howard's brother Clint Howard who incidentally made the cut. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but come on, he took a very short dip in the gene pool. This is actually not a bad picture of him. I don't know how he did it (having Richie Cunningham as a brother probably helped) but he's been in 176 films! I guess you don't have to be good looking to be a star. There's hope for me yet.

Having looked at the others on the list, there are some obvious choices (Michael Jackson), some obscure choices (the plastic surgery cat lady), and some deceased celebs like (Marty Feldman - the best eyes ever!).

Your 2 cents might shed some light on this important subject. I'm sure they missed many, many more. Your thoughts?

What Was That About The Illiterates?

Okay, again another celebrity has screwed up and said the wrong thing. Jerry Lewis apparently went on some type of "comedy" rant during his telethon and called an imaginary person an "illiterate faggot" or something like that. Today he apologized and all is right in the world, but I challenge you to be 80-something and do comedy during a telethon for like 24 hours straight (no pun intended)! I know I couldn't do it without at least several drinks and some randomly placed curses.

But seriously folks, the man is definitely going to heaven regardless of what he says. Look, how much money has this man raised for charity over the years? Like zillions??? Yesterday alone he raised over 64 MILLION dollars! The last charitable thing I did was donate some used crap to the Salvation Army. I think he deserves a "pass" on this one folks.

I guess my point is, celebrities are not perfect (duh), and neither am I, and neither are you, so don't judge people from one action, take into account their whole character.

Jerry, Just be cool from here on out bud. I appreciate the sincere apology. Keep up the good work.
